Where do I start?
So you have a piece of old furniture, now what????
First up - check for and damage or any repairs that need attention. Once repairs if any have been done, give your piece a really good clean.
We have a wonderful Lemon Myrtle Brush and furniture cleaner available but any grease cutting cleaner is fine.
Let you piece dry.
Now to decide the look you want.

How do I choose between Silk Finish & Chalk Finish?
Choosing between our ranges all depends on the look you are after!
- Silk Finish is the best choice for single colour streamlined looks. Silk paint will give you a stunning flawless low sheen finish rivalling factory finishes. It also does not need to be sealed. We recommend priming with our Base & Blocker or any water based primer.
- Chalk Finish is perfect for artistic finishes such as blending, texture and aged distressed looks. Chalk still has a smooth velvety feel and you can absolutely still achieve a super smooth one colour finish, if you prefer chalk style paints.
- Chalk Finish does need sealing as it has by nature a matte absorbent finish. We recommend using our Beeswax Polish or one of our Polyurethane Finishes.
Quick Tip!
Silk - CLEAN | SCUFF SAND | PRIME | PAINT
Chalk - CLEAN | SCUFF SAND | PAINT | SEAL

When can I start using my newly painted piece?
- Our paints & finishes in normal conditions will cured in about 7-10 days.
- Until then it is best to use coasters and avoid sharp heavy objects.
- Temp above 25 degrees and below 10 degrees - will lengthen this time to cure.
- Hot temperatures will also make painting harder and your finish less perfect as the paint will be drying too quickly. Too cold temperatures will also stop your paint drying as normal, so leaving you piece overnight between all coats.
